Higher College of Technology - Muscat, Oman
|Location: Muscat, Oman|
Inaugurated in 1984 as the first public college in the Sultanate of Oman, the Higher College of Technology (HCT) is now the second largest higher education provider in the country with an annual intake of 1750 freshmen to complement its already 7300-member student body.
The only institution among the Ministry of Manpower’s Colleges of Technology to grant Bachelor’s degrees, HCT offers students a unique opportunity to choose between certificate, diploma, higher diploma and undergraduate qualifications for almost any of the disciplines it offers through its seven departments.
HCT’s complex in central Muscat occupies an area of approximately 50,000 sq. meters and houses a broad range of facilities and amenities to ensure students enjoy a highly productive learning experience. Situated in the coastal district of Al Khuwair, the campus is also conveniently located close to several infrastructural and recreational landmarks including the Al Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Al Maha Club, Radisson Blu Hotel and The Royal Hospital.
Landmark: Al Janubyyah Street
The College maintains a distinctly low student to faculty ratio with a dynamic staff of over 600 members in order to make classes as interactive and engaging as possible, which also improves their ability to integrate into a group-oriented work environment upon graduation.
HCT is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman and the ICES (Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors).
